Shandée - Deleting the Past

As I scroll through pictures of days gone by,
I see friends and family, some no longer nearby.
We once shared laughter and memories bright,
But now, we've each taken a different path in life.

Opening this Pandora’s box of the past,
A flood of memories hits me fast.
Deleting pictures, one by one,
Of people and moments that are now gone.

Videos of parties, where I tried to fit in,
Now I see they never truly let me in.
Deleting dreams I once held so high,
Realizing those fires no longer need to ignite.

Poems I wrote, so mature for my age,
Reflect a life that has turned the page.
Activating an account I thought was closed,
A reminder of how time flows and grows.

Some have left us, leaving tears behind,
Others drifted away, though we still try
To hold on to moments we once shared—
Yet, sometimes, it's best to clear the air.

Deleting the past may feel like a chore,
But it creates space for something more.
A new chapter begins, unwritten and true,
With lessons learned, both old and new.

So goodbye to the past, and hello to what's near,
An unwritten future, open and clear.
The irony of erasing what once brought joy—
A metaphor of becoming, like a butterfly's ploy.

Shandée - Poem for a Bully

I see the sorrow in your eyes,

The world's weight upon your shoulder,

Pain that you try so hard to disguise,

And a heart that's growing colder.

No one's there to wait for you,

No one shares your meals or space,

No one's there to see you through,

As you search for a warm embrace.

Your heart is burdened with such weight,

Of all the wrongs that you've been told,

And you feel it's getting late,

To heal the pain before you're old.

But time moves on, and so must you,

Can't hide from truth or pretend,

There's no easy way to make it through,

But you'll find love that'll never end.

So hear me now, my friend so dear,

There's hope beyond this present strife,

And though the path may seem unclear,

Love will lead you to a better life.
